Global Equality Caucus welcomes human rights champion Aron le Fèvre to deputy director role

 

The Global Equality Caucus is pleased to announce that human rights champion Aron le Fèvre is joining our organisation as Deputy Director for Programmes, as we begin an exciting year of growth and campaigning.

Aron has a distinguished record working on human rights programmes, having worked for Dutch and European diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan and Guyana, as well as for non-governmental organisations including Human Rights Watch and the grassroots group Pride United.

Most recently, Aron served as Director of Human Rights for Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride & EuroGames. In this role he worked closely with governmental institutions, parliamentarians, NGOs, activists and businesses to deliver the six-day Human Rights Forum. As part of this programme, Aron convened the Interparliamentary Plenary Assembly, which brought together over 100 legislators at the Danish Parliament to discuss priorities in the fight for global LGBT+ equality.

As part of his role with the Global Equality Caucus, Aron will oversee our growth into Latin America; will support our upcoming global campaign to ban conversion therapy; and will help to deliver the Safe to be Me conference in London next year, where the Global Equality Caucus in partnering with the UK Government to ensure a parliamentary presence at the summit.

Upon his appointment, Aron said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Global Equality Caucus, not least so we can build on the achievements and legacy of Copenhagen 2021. Parliamentarians are crucial to securing positive change for LGBT+ people around the world, and I am looking forward to working on campaigns that will have a real impact on people’s lives.”
