The Global Equality Summit took place in Cape Town from 11-13 November 2024 and brought together legislators from all across the world to address global challenges in the struggle for LGBTIQ+ rights.

Over 200 delegates including currently serving legislators, former legislators, government ministers, parliamentary staffers, civil society partners, civil servants, diplomatic staff, representatives of multilateral organisations, and selected private sector stakeholders participated in a three-day programme.

Gathered legislators signed the Cape Town Declaration to reaffirm their commitment to LGBTIQ+ rights. We look forward to following up with stakeholders to secure the legacy of the Summit and we will work in-country with our champions to advance the policy goals agreed by lawmakers.

Photographs from the Summit are available to view and download here.

The next Global Equality Summit will take place in 2027. Please contact a member of staff about any upcoming regional convenings.
