Global Parliamentary Platform on HIV/AIDS launches new website

The Global Parliamentary Platform on HIV/AIDS now has its own dedicated website to help coordinate legislative engagement on the HIV response.

The Platform (GPP HIV) is a collaborative effort between the Global Equality Caucus, the Global TB Caucus, and UNITE, with partners including UNAIDS, STOPAIDS, WACI Health, and the International AIDS Society. It is a space where parliamentarians from all over the world can come together, sharing their knowledge, experiences, and ideas to tackle one of the greatest global health challenges of our time—HIV and AIDS.

Launched in July 2024 at the International AIDS Conference, this initiative now unites over 400 parliamentarians from 40 countries, all focused on achieving the SDG3 target of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Through the Platform, legislators have the opportunity to connect and collaborate on best practices, discuss challenges, and push for the legislative changes that are so desperately needed. Our focus is to empower lawmakers to drive forward policies that ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to HIV prevention and treatment - eliminating stigma, advocating for human rights and gender equality, and making sure that no one is left behind.

GEC members will have a leading role in driving the Platform’s mission, with GEC Steering Committee representative Esteban Paulón (Argentina) and GEC members Susel Paredes (Peru) and Daniel Molokele (Zimbabwe) serving as Regional Convenors.

Visit the GPP HIV website today at www.gpphiv.org to learn more.

We encourage all parliamentarians interested in joining this initiative to register - contact us here to share your thoughts, successes and plans related to your policy work and advocacy on HIV in your country.
