International conference and COVID-19 update

We have been planning an international LGBT+ rights conference with the UK Government and had intended to hold it in May this year.

Safe To Be Me: A Global Equality Conference will bring together experts, policymakers, elected officials, businesses and civil society from across the globe to come together and build a safer world for LGBT people.

Due to efforts to mitigate the global spread of the COVID-19 virus, the International Conference Steering Board (of which the Global Equality Caucus is a member) has decided to postpone the conference. New dates will be announced in due course.

This decision has not been taken lightly. While we are all agreed on the importance of this event, the safety and health of our delegates must come first. We are not cancelling the conference and we are continuing to plan a full three-day programme to ensure the high level of ambition for the event is realised.

The Global Equality Caucus still intends to hold a summit for parliamentarians and elected representatives during the conference and will be integrating its members into other conference events.

We hope you are keeping well in these difficult times. Rest assured we are continuing in our work to improve lives for LGBT+ people everywhere.
